How To Treat Dry and Damaged Hair

If you have dry hair, it is more likely to be damaged. There are many reasons why you can develop dry hair; it could naturally have low porosity, you may have damaged it while styling, or it may even be sun-damaged. 

The trick is to know when you have dry hair and what steps you can take to remedy it. There are several measures that you can take at home.

Choose The Right Products

You may not consider this a home remedy, but it is an essential step in your battle against dry hair. Getting the right product means your hair will get the nutrition it needs, which will help prevent dryness. If you’re unsure what products to use, it’s time you tried the nak hair range.

Avocados

You can restore moisture to your hair by using avocados. Mash one with an egg then rubs the mixture into wet hair. You’ll need to leave it in place for 20-30 minutes; this will help your hair to absorb the fatty acids and nutrients in the mix. 

Afterward, wash your hair in warm water, not hot, and it should look shiny and healthy.

Butter 

Yes, surprisingly, butter can work wonders for your hair. Take a teaspoon full of butter and blend it into your hair. Massage it gently into as many strands as possible to ensure the fatty acids in the butter get into your hair.

Covering your hair with a shower cap for approximately 30 minutes is best. The wash and shampoo, as usual, to see your hair shine.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil works similarly to butter by adding fatty acids and nutrients to your hair. You’ll need to warm the Oil first. Of course, you shouldn’t let it boil as you don’t want boiling oil on your hair.

Rub it into all the strands of your hair and then cover your head with a towel. You’ll need to leave it for 45-60 minutes before washing it and shampooing it thoroughly. 

Tea Rinse

You may be surprised that tea isn’t just good for drinking and sore throats. It’s also excellent to rinse your hair after you’ve done the regular shampoo.

Chamomile tea works best for blondes, while black tea is suitable for brunettes. 

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is another excellent way to add moisture and nutrient to your hair. Add a little of it to your hair and massage it in. Leave it on there for thirty minutes before washing and shampooing like normal.

Coconut Oil helps your hair to grow.

Wrap Your Hair

Dry hair generally suffers from low porosity, so it doesn’t absorb moisture and nutrients quickly. You can help this process by not rubbing your hair to dry it. Instead, wrap it in a towel and let it dry naturally. It will absorb more moisture, and this can be instrumental in preventing split ends.
