1 – Match the occasion
The first rule is to make sure that the hat matches what you are doing and not necessarily what you are wearing. For instance, if you are going to a formal dress party then a hat that is understated is the way to go so you aren’t going to look garish or attention seeking.
If you are dressing up slightly for a casual occasion in which you want to pull an outfit together then you have more freedom. For instance a leather baseball cap or custom snapback hats will look good if you have court-side seats for a basketball game.
