Macy’s honors National Pride Month with the grand opening of our PRIDE Shop in Herald Square and a special partnership with the Trevor Project
WHO/WHAT: Macy’s long-standing commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion are punctuated this June by its nationwide celebration of National Pride Month. In support of its colleagues, customers and communities, Macy’s annual Pride + Joy campaign in New York will celebrate the grand opening of our PRIDE Shop in Macy’s Herald Square.
Guests from The Trevor Project and Macy’s own executives will be in attendance for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Throughout the evening, customers can enjoy a performance by Dee Roscioli of Broadway’s CHER, Big Gay Ice Cream from DKNY, passed Prosecco and light bites, as well as have the opportunity to meet, a longtime supporter of human rights, fashion designer Kenneth Cole.
This year, Macy’s Pride + Joy campaign also includes a nationwide giveback component in support of young LGBTQ youth in crisis. From June 1 – June 17 at all Macy’s stores, shoppers can celebrate Pride by giving back to The Trevor Project – the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth – through Macy’s charitable round-up program. As customers complete their in-store purchases, they will be invited to round up to the nearest dollar (up to $.99) and donate the change to The Trevor Project.
Macy’s shoppers are also invited to support The Trevor Project with style. Pride and it’s signature colors will be front and center in the limited–edition, three-piece capsule collection by INC International Concepts. Throughout the month of June, Macy’s will donate a portion of the purchase price to The Trevor Project.
