Simone Rocha champions beautiful balletcore at London Fashion Week

From tutus to organza clutches: here’s how the Irish designer Simone Rocha channeled ballet core in her latest collection.

Simone Rocha’s spring/summer 2025 London Fashion Week collection showcased a darker twist on the traditional tutu, blending coquettish and melancholic elements.

Rocha was born in Dublin in 1986. After graduating from Central Saint Martin’s College in 2008, she debuted at London Fashion Week two years later. Subsequently, her career took off, and Simone Rocha established herself as a prominent figure in the fashion industry.

Rocha showed that the ballet core trend, which started on TikTok, has lasting power beyond social media fads.

The runway was awash with tutu skirts, silk slippers, organza clutches, and a blush pink palette, underlining Simone Rocha’s talent.

Some models carried organza-covered clutch bags that looked like rolled-up tutus – which could very well become one of the ‘it’ bags of the season.

The rose motif, a signature of Rocha, was embellished across skirts, tops, and trousers and incorporated into accessories as models graced the runway with blushing bouquets.

Rocha’s vivid reds and pitch blacks, sharply tailored suits, coats, and dresses added frivolity and reality.

Simone Rocha mentioned that ballet and the German dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch inspired her for this season.

The collection introduced denim, adding a new texture and dimension to the show.
