Wanderlust, the Super Bowl of yoga festivals had an unexpected visitor this year. Turns out we cannot be blessed with sunny weather every year. Mother Nature was fickle last Sunday pouring rain on hundreds of undeterred yogis. The runners ran and the yogis stretched, yoga’ed and meditated on the vast field in Prospect Park. As always dancing with the DJ’s on the main stage kept spirits high.
Allow yourself to wander. My personal favorite activity each year is browsing the Kula Market showcasing local artisans. Sponsors giving out free healthy samples, and local vendors selling crafts, jewelry, and apparel is an experience in itself. Live music, Essential Oils and Tarot 101 rounded out our day of mindfulness.
For the more advanced yogi, there was Aerial Yoga, Hooping to AcroYoga, AcroYoga Therapeutics, and Bodywork workouts.
Wanderlust has joined (RED) in the fight to eliminate AIDS. For every Wanderlust 108 ticket purchased, Wanderlust donated $1.08 to the Global Fund to fight AIDS with (RED), which could provide more than 3 days of life-saving HIV medication.
